Sustainability data in the heart of cloud operations
ITAM teams are sitting on a goldmine of data. Data which is useful to make so-called “buzzwords” – such as Sustainability, Green IT, Green Ops – SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound.
This goldmine of data, available for example in Flexera One (ITV, CCO and FinOps modules), can be used as input in your organization for the current challenges which our modern world is facing. Challenges such as E-waste (e.g. 7,5 kg per person per year), surging energy use (e.g. Data Center electricity consumption expected 117% increase 2025 vs 2026) and increasing cloud usage. Did you know for example that sending and storing 20 mails a day for 1 year has the same impact as driving 1000 km by car (non-electric)? It is all about getting insight in your cloud carbon footprint.
This is where our partner Flexera comes in. With their new partnership with GreenPixie, that data goldmine is being expanded even more. It enables the ITAM team to provide insights on both cost and cloud-based emissions data (and thus their carbon footprint). So C-level will be able to make decisions based on facts rather than gut feeling.
