Noventiq Northern Europe passes their first surveillance audit for ISO/IEC 19770-1:2017 for ITAM
This year, Noventiq Northern Europe successfully passed its first ISO 19770-1:2017 surveillance audit (certification is valid for three years, but in year 2 and year 3 after the initial certification, Brand Compliance will conduct a surveillance audit to make sure the organization’s management system is still working effectively). During Year 4, a recertification audit is conducted. Having been the first organization globally to achieve the certification, we are happy to also be the first ones to go through a surveillance audit.
Ash Dharas (Program Manager), on what this meant and what the key learnings were: “The surveillance audit allowed us to see whether the system we put in place a year ago still works. For us it was important to see what this surveillance would bring, as we changed our management system over the course of the year. So receiving another thumbs up means the migration project was a full success. It’s also important to understand that ITAM is a journey and you will always find better and more mature ways of doing things as your program evolves."
Dennis Montanje (Executive Vice President Noventiq Northern Europe): “Noventiq is a strong believer of practicing what you preach. Some years ago, we became a patron of the ITAM Forum, and we support them through knowledge and time to grow the business practice of IT Asset Management. I also took on the role of leading the certification stream and to build a globally recognized Certification Scheme for the ISO/IEC 19770-1:2017 standard. Making the decision to become certified ourselves, is the perfect example of demonstrating to our clients what good looks like. We are also a Certification Patron and are able and qualified to help organizations achieve ISO ITAM certification as well.”, Montanje adds.
ISO/IEC 19770-1:2017 certification is an independent view on an organization’s ITAM system, on its processes & documentation and how good they are. Certification demonstrates good governance, and the maturity and quality of an organization’s ITAM processes. It offers benefits such as better ability to counter vendor audits and internal audits, continued C-level attention for ITAM (management buy-in), improved data security and compliance (risk management), and continuous improvement.
